June 01, 20265 min read

Welcome to our Marriage War and Peace blog for June!
With Veronica L. Nabizadeh

The Marriage War and Peace Blog is your monthly dose of real talk, relationship insight, and gentle reminders that peace is possible… even when the summer ain’t easy.

June is supposed to feel carefree.

  • The kids are out of school.

  • Vacation photos flood social media.

  • Everyone’s posting poolside cocktails, beach sunsets, and happy family memories.

But for many battle-weary wives?

More time together can mean more tension.

More pressure to “make memories” can highlight emotional distance.

And while everyone else seems to be relaxing, you may find yourself quietly wondering:

Especially when it seems like everyone else’s marriage is doing just fine.

If that’s where you are, I want you to know something:

While summertime may not feel easy right now…

peace is still possible.

If You’re Ready for Peace—Here’s Your Opportunity

Let me be direct:

Reading insights is powerful.

Practicing them in real time? That’s what changes your marriage.

That’s why I’m inviting you to something different.

New Podcast Launch — Truth Bombs & Tantrums: Marriage Real Talk

MRR

I’m super excited to officially launch my brand-new podcast:

Truth Bombs & Tantrums: The Marriage Real Talk

Guest hosted by Donna DiDomenico, this podcast is for battle-weary wives and couples who know love is beautiful… but brutal sometimes, too.

This isn’t sugar-coated relationship advice.

This is real marriage talk.

The kind most people are too afraid to say out loud.

In Episode One:

The Day I Almost Left My Marriage (And What Stopped Me)

Donna turns the mic around and interviews me about the moment I truly thought my marriage was over… and the unexpected interruption that changed everything.

We talk about:

  • what it really feels like to become battle-weary

  • the exhausting emotional loops couples get trapped in

  • the moment I almost walked away

  • what shifted inside me

  • and the first steps that helped transform my marriage

MRR

If you’ve ever whispered, “I don’t know how much longer I can do this”… this episode will hit home.

You can listen on my website or on my YouTube channel: Marriage Relationship Restart YouTube Channel

And trust me…

you’re going to want to hear this one.

Answer

Oh, Beautiful… first let me say this:

Most battle-weary wives are lovers, not fighters.

What they want more than anything is to feel:

  • heard

  • understood

  • emotionally safe

  • valued

  • and connected again

But when those needs repeatedly go unmet:

  • a short tone feels rejecting

  • silence feels threatening

  • defensiveness feels unbearable

  • and small disagreements feel emotionally catastrophic

In  Don’t Throw in the Towel Yet!: If It’s Worth Fighting About, It’s Worth Fixing, I teach women how to:

  • STOP fueling the flames,

  • DROP out of the line of fire, and

  • ROLL into self-care and self-love.

Because when your nervous system calms down, your relationship conversations change.

You stop reacting from panic.

You stop escalating from hurt.

And you finally create room for peace to re-enter the conversation.

The Battle-Weary Wife’s Deck of Strength and Wisdom

DECK CARD PULL

Stillness as Lifeline

But if your relationship feels strained right now, the extra noise, expectations, togetherness, and emotional pressure of summer can feel overwhelming instead of joyful.

This card is your reminder:

  • you don’t need to force peace

  • you don’t need to perform happiness

  • you don’t need to solve your entire relationship in one emotionally charged summer

Sometimes the most healing thing you can do is become still.

Not every marriage problem needs immediate fixing.

Some need breathing room before clarity can emerge.

THIS MONTH’S PEACE PRACTICE

Then ask yourself:

  • What am I truly feeling right now?

  • What do I need most in this moment?

  • What would peace choose next?

Even ninety seconds of pause can interrupt a destructive emotional spiral.

This book was written for battle-weary wives standing at the crossroads between:

  • staying or leaving

  • hope or heartbreak

  • healing or exhaustion

  • and losing themselves or finally coming home to themselves again

This is not a sugar-coated relationship book.

It’s real talk for real women navigating real marriages.

Because too many women are silently suffering behind closed doors while pretending everything is fine.

Summertime may not feel easy right now.

Your marriage may feel tender, uncertain, complicated, or painfully unresolved.

But this summer doesn’t have to be about pretending everything is perfect.

Make this summer about:

  • breathing deeper

  • reacting less

  • listening more

  • and finding your way back to yourself one peaceful moment at a time

Because even when it’s summertime and the livin’ ain’t easy…

healing is still possible.

And so is peace.

And if you need support this summer, don’t go quiet and don’t go it alone.
